BUDDAH

Prince Siddartha Gautama

The prince left the palace for 6 years to devote his life to religion after seeing all of the pain and suffering there was in the world. He became a monk. He tried all kinds of things to find the soloution, including starving himself, but he never found it. One day, as he was meditating underneath a tree in a monastary in India, it suddenly came to him. He concluded that all suffering is caused by desire. He then became the Buddha, or," The enlightned one." This was the beginning of Buddhism, one of the five major world religions.
